Wet Shear Tester (RL-WST-A)

The Rycolab Wet Shear automatic tester is used to meet the TAPPI T842 industry standard. This testing machine obtains the time of shear (in seconds) of the glue in a sample of corrugated board submerged in water with a certain constant load applied (Wet Shear Adhesion Test). A weight of 1,000 or 2,000 grams is applied depending on the strength of the cardboard. This test is extremely important in boxes for fruits especially in banana boxes were the humidity and low temperature are very demanding, similar to the packaging used for frozen foods that are going to be stored in high frozen ambient temperatures.
