4262 Load cells junction box

Description

The load cells junction box type 4262 is designed for the parallel  connection of  up to four load cells; it is used in weighing systems where more than  one load  cell  is installed, or when the distance between the load cell  and  the instrumentation is requiring an extension cable.

The  grey-painted  aluminium junction boø has usually  overall  dimensions  of 165x140x68  mms, with 4 holes for M6 screws, center distances 144x125 mms;  in some cases, the circuit can be mounted into a larger box, together with  other devices, such as signal conditioning boards.

A special version, for the individual connection of two load cells with  sepa­rate output cables, is also available.

The standard version has galvanized cable entries (1/2” SPT, to connect pro-tecting conduits or sheaths) for the input and output cables; on request, cable clamps or connectors can be installed.

The  cover is provided with a rubber continuous sealing, and 4 screws  at the corners; if the sheaths are correctly fastened, the  protection grade of the box is IP65.

The  parallel connection of the load cells is effected by means of  a  printed circuit board provided with binding posts:

* the  load cells will be connected with 4 wires (±EXC, ±SIG) and the  shield;   if the load cell cable has 6 wires the wires +EXC / +SEN and -EXC / -SEN are to be connected together;

* the connecting cable to the electronic apparatus should have 6 wires  (±EXC, ±SIG, ±SEN) and the shield.

In  some applications, the circuit board is provided with a  tare  suppression Circuit:  the coarse zeroing will be effected by means of the 4  DIP  switches which  are connecting the resistors (the proper adjustment of switches ON  and OFF will be found by trial), while the fine zeroing is effected by the trimmer marked ZERO.
